More and more people are suffering from memory and orientation disorders, especially in old age. These disorders may have a variety of causes. Greater care and attention will be needed if someone is no longer able to cope with everyday life due to memory and orientation problems, if they are finding it harder to concentrate or if they cannot cope in new situations. A diagnosis in a GP’s surgery or at a specialist practice is very important to clarify the various symptoms. Memory appointments, which are often attached to a hospital department, enable outpatient and day-patient examinations.
